Patent dispute: HTC facing a ban in the United States - Giga.de

In recent weeks, there has been relatively quiet in terms of patent litigation in the field of smartphones, now again we have something for you. As it is, namely, the HTC has one chip in the remodel, so as not to infringe a patent by Nokia.

affected patent relates to a part of the HTC one, that was built for the improvement of transmission and receiving phone calls. In the past week, Nokia has decided in a U.S. patent case, the Court provisionally for themselves, which is why HTC has now come into action.

As the Wall Street Journal reports, HTC is now with Qualcomm to make common things to change chip of the HTC One so that the relevant patent is not infringed and therefore an import ban in the United States is excluded for the HTC.

In January 2014, the ITC (International Trade Commission of the United States) shall be further dealt with the matter. If the vörläufige decision will still fall, this could provide an import ban not only for one, but also for other devices.

Oh yes, always, these patent lawsuits. But of course, companies must somehow protect their products. But I’m sure that HTC and Qualcomm find a way to make the preliminary decision is set aside. What do you think of this whole (rather unfortunate) issue?
