Amazon is rumored for a long time, trying to get a smartphone under their own names on the market. Already two years ago, there were first rumors. Now, the online shopping giant himself, according to a report in the Financial Times (paywall) HTC have brought on board to bring the Kindle Smartphone finally on the market. Neither Amazon nor HTC have all the latest news, fomented from insider circles commented. According to a previous statement by Amazon to plan but this year no entry into the smartphone market. So it could take until 2014 to the Amazon smartphone from HTC actually comes to market.
However, it should not stick to a single Amazon smartphone. The report by the Financial Times, HTC will produce three different models. Whether this will all come in the same trade or are but rather for different regions and markets remains to be seen.
As may be that Amazon’s Kindle should also phone, so called because it is missing out on a highly customized Android interface. In the Amazon tablet that is already the case, you can see the Google operating system hardly. The Amazon devices are not geared to the Google offer, but on their own ecosystem. The user should therefore kindly buy his apps, music, movies and books at Amazon and download and not on Google. There is no reason why this should be any different with the planned Amazon phone.
For HTCthe deal with Amazon could pay off well. The lurching mobile phone producer is in crisis and is likely to be for large, lucrative partner like Amazon more than grateful. Who manufactures devices for Amazon, may be set to high sales figures and ordinary marketing. Whether this will help HTC out of the red, but it remains to be seen.
