World Premiere: HTC One makes first video call from Mount Everest - N-Droid

British climber Daniel Hughes has recently climbed Mount Everest to raise money for a charity event. One million British pounds to come together with the trip. The money is the British charity Comic Relief will be donated to disadvantaged people in Africa and the United Kingdom supported.

Luggage Hughes also had a HTC one, with whom he once arrived at the summit, telephoned video calls with the BBC. It is the first video call that was made from höchten 8,848 meters mountain in the world.

As The Verge reports, Hughes used to call the Broadband Global Area Network service from Inmarsat, which enables worldwide via satellite Internet connections of up to 492 kbit per second. From reaching the fundraising goal of mountaineers is still away: Until now, only 40,673 pounds were donated. (Via)
