HTC X Plus does not receive Android update more - Golem.de

HTC’s Android Smartphone One X Plus will not receive Android update more from the manufacturer. Thus, the smartphone with Android 4.2.2 remains hanging. The One X Plus came a little over a year ago on the market.

owner of One X Plus will not rejoice: HTC will offer an Android update more for the book published in October 2012 smartphone. HTC in the Netherlands has announced via Twitter that the One X Plus will remain permanently on Android 4.2.2. Reasons were not disclosed.

In August 2013 an update was released on Android 4.2.2 and since then there have been no new Android version identified by the manufacturer. Thus, the One X has received only positive after its launch one Android Upate, because it already came with Android 4.1 on the market.

Google Android 4.4 aka Kitkat introduced, it was stressed that the new version of Android on less powerful devices running well. This sparked many owners of Android devices hopeful that device manufacturer would also offer updates to Android 4.4 for devices that would otherwise no longer really get it. In the case of One X Plus this hope was not fulfilled now, although it should be be powerful enough for Android 4.4. There are already several alternative Android distributions for the One X Plus that rely on Kitkat.


One and One Mini to Android 4.4 will receive

So far, HTC has put only in the One and the One Mini an update to Android 4.4 in view. Either in January 2014 or February 2014 One should receive the update to the latest Android version. When the One Mini it gets, is not yet known. Whether older HTC smartphones get an update to the current version of Android, is currently far from certain.
