the Landgericht München I decided in a patent dispute between HTC and Nokia in favor of the Finnish mobile phone manufacturer. HTC’s Android smartphones consequently violate the Nokia patents EP1148681, reports of specialized patent litigation blog FossPatents. HTC is now threatening a nationwide ban on the sale.

this can be enforced immediately, but needs to 400 million euros deposit as collateral. The sum serves as compensation for sales failures, if later instance should revise the judgment. In a statement, the present net world, Nokia has welcomed the decision of the District Court of Munich, but left open whether the manufacturer is allowed to enforce the ban.
HTC is appealing
HTC commented over net world for judgment. The Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer announced in a statement to appeal. At the same time, however, HTC is also thinking about it, the corresponding function that violates the Nokia patent, to remove from its smartphones. The patent EP1148681 describes a method to exchange resource information between two devices via NFC or Bluetooth. This may be about to exchange the URL of a Web page.
The dispute between the two companies has been running since 2012. HTC and Nokia arguing not only in Germany before the court, but also in the U.S. and the UK.
