measures 4.3 inches diagonally, the display of the HTC One mini. enlarge class=”source”> Image: Techstage.de HTC has introduced a smaller version of its Android flagship HTC One . The HTC one mini differs mainly in price and the technical equipment of the big brother instead of a quad-core SoCs has built a weaker dual-core 1.4 GHz processor (Snapdragon MSM8930 400), instead of 2 GB RAM it has only 1 GB. With 16 GB of flash it has half as much built-in memory, just as the One lacks a microSD slot. The recommended retail price is 450 euros, 200 euros lower than that of the One.

Otherwise, the differences are visually and technically not so great: As the One comes the mini one in a noble aluminum look front speakers and a silver metal back, which is more rounded at the mini. The housing is compact, only a few millimeters, the 4.3-inch diagonal display with only slightly smaller than that of One (4.7 inches). With 1280 × 720 pixels, it solves a whole lot of lower, but still comes to sharp 342 ppi. The colleagues of our gadget blogs have TechStage in their pre-test, a good maximum brightness of 430 cd / m <+> 2 <+> measured. The Mini brings the scales at 128 grams compared to 144 grams of the HTC one.

HTC continues to rely on a low-resolution camera (4 megapixels) with a large sensor. In c’t test the technically comparable camera of the HTC One against Galaxy S4 and Lumia 925 was not convincing, but managed good results overall, including in low light conditions. Right here is a weak point of the Mini One could be: unlike the one it should have no optical image stabilizer, which pays off, especially in a dark environment

.

One mini radios in this country standard LTE frequencies, an NFC module does not have the mini one. Android 4.2.2 is installed in combination with HTC’s own Sense interface includes 5 News Home screen flashing feed. On TechStage.de there is a hands-on video and a more detailed pre-test.

The HTC one mini is from early August for 450 € in Germany come on the market and a little later in Austria and Switzerland. (acb)
