John came by chance on Android and it has given him so much that he stayed right there. After a period as a freelance writer and photographer in his home in the beautiful cathedral, it has brought him to the capital to enjoy AndroidPIT. In his free time he listens to music constantly actually, is underway on his bike, taking pictures of people, houses and things, and occasionally sports.
Every day we deal with smartphones, but we rarely ask ourselves a question: How much technology do we need anyway? Clearly just want everyone to have the best, and many are willing to pay for high three-figure sums. But how often do we take advantage of the full capabilities of the device? Sometimes reaches perhaps a smaller size? Our video comparison between the HTC and the Alcatel One Touch One idol is a possible answer.

It is a crucial question: Where does the “Need” on, where does the “Do want” to? To explore this question further, we have let two unequal opponents in the video against each other: The HTC one, one of the current top smartphones and currently be had for around 600 euros, and the Alcatel One Touch idol, a mid-range device to be sold for around 230 euros. We wanted to know: Is the price justified? Is the HTC one is not only twice as expensive, but also twice as good?
Of course, such a comparison may not be fair, but it’s not that well. This test is not aimed at professionals and power users, but to the average user, who uses his smartphone as everyday helpers. He surfs the net, phone and writes text messages, take a snapshot, listening to music or playing little games to pass the time. Not more. And that, is my thesis, the One Touch idol with a 4.7-inch display is basically just as good as the HTC one, which also has a 4.7-inch display. Whether it’s true, you can see in the video.

The test result numbers
Internet: Both smartphones are fast, the HTC loads pages and images but a little faster and scroll through web pages and liquid

HTC 1: 0 Alcatel
Telephony: The dialer both smartphones are similar and provide the same functionality, usability and voice quality: Draw. When the speaker HTC One can indeed score, but the sound quality is again specially assessed.

productivity: Both smartphones have a number of practical pre-installed apps that help in the organization of everyday life. Tie.
HTC: 5: 3 Alcatel
Gaming: to distraction from work everyday you can play small games on both smartphones between. Popular free games like Temple Run or Candy Crush run smoothly on both devices.
HTC 6: 4 Alcatel
Personalize: The HTC One offers numerous possibilities for personalization, from the lock screen. As Alcatel can not keep up.
HTC 7: 4 Alcatel
Music: Again, HTC has with the Beat Audio Software, boom sound and stereo speakers clearly in the lead, even if the music apps offer similar functionality themselves.
HTC 8: 4 Alcatel
Camera: The camera of the HTC One delivers better pictures than the Alcatel, even though that is not so clearly visible in the test. In daylight, both are fine, but: Point for HTC

HTC: 9: 4 Alcatel
Conclusion
In the end, the HTC one can position well before the Alcatel One Touch idol. However, the protrusion is not as great as suggested by the figures. The Alcatel smartphone was a worthy opponent, often there were only small details that tipped the scales. Sure, the HTC one has the better display and better processes, which is beyond question. But this fact to justify twice the price? Everyone must answer for themselves.
