the HTC Droid DNA fused to the One and a butterfly emerges from the cocoon – the HTC Butterfly S.
Last November, HTC unveiled the Droid DNA, which was one of the first water-resistant 5-inch smartphone with 1080p display (immediately after the Oppo Find 5). Since then, both companies are working on successors. But while the Oppo Find 7 is still being developed, HTC has now announced the Butterfly S, which represents an elegant fusion of Droid DNA and the One.
Much like its predecessor, the device integrates a five-inch display with full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), but got a SoC upgrade and now integrates the Snapdragon 600 . This SoC includes a clocked with 1.9 GHz Krait 300 CPU and an Adreno 320 GPU, which is expected to reach a respectable 52 gigaflops. There are a further two interer GB RAM and 16 GB of memory, which can be in contrast to the one expand via microSD memory card. Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi (802.11 a / b / g / n / ac at 2.4 and 5 GHz) are on board, but 4G LTE support, there is not – actually incomprehensible for such a high-quality (and expensive) device such as the Butterfly S.
The smartphone integrates usual two cameras: the front is decorated with a 2.1 megapixel resolution camera on the back sits known from the One HTC Ultra pixels camera. The capacity of the battery should be at 3200 mAh. The operating system is Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean ) is used, which is modified by HTC’s Sense 5 interface.
Currently the device is listed with a price of 765 U.S. dollars (equivalent to approx 585 euros) and is first come sometime in July in Taiwan to market. We suspect that it is similar to the Butterfly J will eventually be available worldwide. It’s quite possible that it has a different name and then maybe LTE on board in other markets.
