HTC One: gets Android 4.4 Kitkat, loses Flash - Chip Online

HTC has begun to supply its top smartphone One in Europe with the update to the latest OS version Android 4.4 Kitkat. It may take a few days until the update is displayed on the German one devices. With the new Android version of the One will, however, lose the flash support.

European One devices are currently serving on Android 4.4.2 with the update. The update is about 308 MB in size and can be downloaded OTA (via Wi-Fi or mobile network). New features include NFC Tap & Pay, a new Bluetooth profiles and some security updates and bug fixes. A function is however the one with 4.4.2 is missing, namely the flash support. So far supported the One from the factory from Flash. If you want to use the program, the APK can load at CHIP Online. So far it is officially only for Android to version 4.3 ready.

HTC had already immediately after the launch of the Nexus and Android 4.4 5 Kitkat on 31 October 2013 announced that the manufacturer intends to publish the update to Android 4.4 within the next 90 days. The confirmation got Engadget of America CEO Jason Mackenzie. Mackenzie also expressed that this country is not available in the Google Edition HTC One should receive the update by the end of November. The update was available from mid-December.

According to Mackenzie, the variants One Max and One Mini with Android 4.4 should be supplied even by the end of January 2014. The time for this is now quite scarce.
