Benchmark tool banished HTC and Samsung - derStandard.at

Several manufacturers of Android smartphones have aroused suspicion, to optimize their devices for benchmark tools. Samsung has about the true denied, however, more detailed analyzes of Ars Technica and AnandTech show very well that some popular benchmark apps are handled differently. Futuremark has now pulled from consequences.


Galaxy Note 3 and Co deleted

The manufacturers were caught that they activate certain high-performance modes only for benchmark tools, but these normal apps are not available. The developer of benchmark tests has models like the Galaxy Note 3, HTC One and One Mini therefore “delisted”. In a press release Futuremark notes that “suspicious devices with benchmark results” are deleted. These models now bring up the rear of the list without scores.

affected are currently only devices from HTC and Samsung. Users are reminded that they should not rely on comparisons with other models scores of these devices. The measures come with the update to 3DMark Android v1.2.0.1232.


cheating more widespread

Besides HTC and Samsung are also LG and Asus cheated for better results. In Futuremark models of these two manufacturers are still being listed. Futuremark is not the only benchmark company, the cheating, the manufacturer can not be dropped. For example, AnTuTu also tried to bypass the optimization of the manufacturer.
