Cheap Phone Contracts: Sony, HTC, Samsung, Huawei: Europe's best mobile device of the year

Prior to working at AndroidPIT, Stephan worked for years as a content manager for WORLD online and as a news editor at TIME online, while at the same time he tried to complete his Master’s degree at the Free University of Berlin. The European Imaging and Sound Association (short: EISA), Europe’s best mobile of the year elected. The winner should not really surprise us. However, there is at least one exception.

When I looked this morning on the calendar was the year not over yet, but so be it: One of the EISA award is not trivial. Because it has the merit of Europe’s largest association of appropriate journals. 50 magazines from 20 European countries are now represented here and choose each year since 1982 in different categories the best out of those, which were tested during the year.

In the top category “mobile devices” (“mobile devices”) are mainly interested the following sub-categories and their winners:

HTC One

The HTC one is celebrated in the tech press worldwide and continues hereby just another triumph. Unfortunately helps the Group currently little known in his misery. S4 Galaxy Mini

S4 Galaxy Mini came in John’s test is not quite as well off. As “social media phone” we had not even considered it, however – which also should always be. As an example of a device that would deserve this name, only the first HTC fell to me to be one that was called due to its prominent (but unsuccessful) use of the Facebook home as “Facebook Phone”.

Xperia Tablet Z

that the Xperia Tablet Z is for “European Tablet of the Year 2013-2014″ have become commonplace is definitely no, because the competition is great. The tablet market is booming, and every well-known (and totally unknown) manufacturer tries in this market. Even North Korea now has its own first Tablet (that we – or anyone else – get a copy of the test, but I think rather unlikely …). Nico already had been then very fond in his test of the flat and some editors here described as very noble tablet (although I personally latter assessment may not understand).

Ascend P6

What has surprised but then, the Huawei Ascend P6 as “consumer Smartphone of the Year”. But why? Not only with us the unit received good grades. Nevertheless, the “China factor” remains so significant that you can not automatically assume that such a device in Europe could be honored with such a title. Precisely for this reason, but at least I am glad it shows that Western blinders fall off so slowly. In my video survey Ascend P6 – the “Huawe-i-phone” – it became clear that the already slowly happening in the population (even if the course was not representative)
