Htc tinkers on smartphone OS for Chinese market - gizmodo.de

htc first The Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer HTC potters to a China-exclusive mobile operating system. HTC comes with it, according to the WSJ, the Chinese authorities wish to be less dependent on Western companies like Google. Little surprising: China is critical of the West originating software. Very surprising, however, that precisely the Taiwan-based HTC fulfills your request. Finally, Taiwan is claimed by China remains as a province.

The new operating system will begin this year and be tailored to the needs of the Chinese market. HTC apparently trying to open up more promising markets for its problems in the U.S. and Europe. The huge Chinese market will continue to grow. So far dominates Android with a market share of over 90 percent – primarily because of the prices. The Chinese government has encouraged companies several times to develop their own software platforms in order to be less dependent on western companies like Google . For the desktop, it has already chosen Ubuntu Linux as the basis. According to the sources, the WSJ is HTC Cher Wang boss personally, which is responsible for communication with the Chinese authorities.

HTC sits in Taiwan. Apparently, it has no concerns with the requirements of the People’s Republic – that mainland China, which claims Taiwan as a province – the latest. As early as 2012 HTC announced that it will create the revolution in China. If the reports about the smartphone OS prove true, the development must already be underway at that time.
