The HTC One Mini an update to Android 4.4 KitKat is received in April, in March the One Max is to be updated to the latest Android version. This announces the Taiwanese manufacturer on Reddit. Hope for a KitKat update can also return the owner of a HTC X and HTC X + make.

The U.S. team from HTC has placed on Reddit a question-and-answer session, where the Taiwanese manufacturer also expressed about Android updates for current and previous Sptizenmodelle. So HTC announced that are updated after Auslierfung the Android 4.4 update for the HTC One now also the sister models One and One Mini Max. In the U.S., the HTC Max One should receive the update in March, the KitKat update for the Mini One should, however, be delivered in April.


hope for One X One X + and owners

hope for a KitKat update also owner of a HTC X and HTC X + can make. Actually, HTC had announced not to update both models on Android 4.2 also. The massive criticism of this decision, but obviously worried for a rethink. Currently HTC check what options there are for a KitKat update.

main problem: The HTC one X and the HTC One X + are powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, and the chip manufacturer apparently does not want to optimize it for use with the Tegra 3 the KitKat source code. At least, HTC complains on Reddit about a lack of support.

In the U.S., the HTC One X comes with a Qualcomm chip, here an update would be possible, but to the outside would be difficult to communicate from HTC-view, why a device receives an update and another not.
